Ubuntu believes that required APT packages are unused and cleans them up during common operations, such as apt autoremove.

OS: Ubuntu 18.10

Repro steps

Install from linuxbrew
Run sudo apt autoremove
Operate on a private repo
Observe Java issues
Reinstall git credential manager
Operate on a private rep
Observe no Java issues
