[Run] Add options to run commands from different shells (in Settings or at runtime) #4283

EDIT: Settings are one aspect of this feature, also see #9627 for a way to select different shells at runtime. We need to make sure the UX is consistent between settings and runtime.


Add settings to select default shell and terminal which will affect PowerToys Run. It should also detect third-party terminals as suggested in the spec:

11 Users can see third-party terminals in the dropdown list for default terminal 3

0.681 Which option can specify shell 0.681? Can't see where you can set in Powertoy Run

Hello, I have submitted a proposal for adding WindowsTerminal as an Execution Shell option in the config. I have been daily driving the changes for a week and it works great. It would be great if someone could take a look at the PR. Thanks.

This has been worked on for the 0.74.0 release. Please update PowerToys to the latest version. 😉
