FIX TO THE PROBLEM?

Incorporate the "new" PowerToys into the Microsoft Store (even as only a "Centennial Bridge" App). After all, isn't The Microsoft Store the "FUTURE" of Microsoft Windows App(s)/(lications)???

I see ZERO REASON fro PowerToys to EVEN EXIST outside of The Windows Store. After all, doesn't the "*.appx" wrapper make the "downloadability" of an ALPHA/BETA/TESTING App BETTER since it will be checked for MALWARE, as well as being AVAILABE across ALL DEVICES via a User's Microsoft Account?

This LAZY CODING that is a contraindiation to the "Future" as presented by Windows 10 / Apps / The Microsoft Store just a symptom of tired, pointless, sad, and BACKWARD programming?

Compared to the Self-Updating, Malware-checked, Future-forward implementation of an App as part of the Microsoft Store counterparts, PowerToys isn't powerful; it's a STEP IN THE WRONG DIRECTION for Microsoft/Windows 10 distribution of Software.

WAKE UP. FIX THIS. JOIN THE MODERN AGE of Verified Apps via a PROPERLY IMPLEMENTED (software)/(Microsoft) Store "Experience" that is cross-device/cross-platform.

NON-Store, "InstallSheild/.msi/.exe"-style Installation is COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE, and threatens the Future-Forward momentum that is a VERIFIED, MALWARE-FREE User Experience3 (UX) that TODAYS Microsoft Operating System User's not only DESERVES, but is in their BEST INTERESTS.

WHY ???

NOT utilizing the Microsoft Store as a Distribution Channel with it's built-in MALWARE/VIRUS/TROJAN/ADWARE-killing Distribution Channel is a STEP IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, and sends the message that The Windows Store is WORTHLESS; while in actuality, the Windows Store is the FUTURE of PC App Discoverability, Distribution , and Quality??? (NOT to mention SAFETY)???

FIX. PLZ. THX.

Hi @my-life-is-confetti
thank you for your feedback.
We are already tracking the issue here #413
Closing this one as duplicate.
Thank you.

@crutkas crutkas changed the title IT'S LAUGHABLE AND IRRESPONSIBLE for Microsft to release something like PowerToys OUTSIDE OF The Microsoft Store. It should be a 100% NO-BRAINER to have it included in the Microsoft Store (even as a Centennial Bridge App). InstallSheild and *.msi NEEED TO DIE. PERIOD. please add to MSFT Store Nov 12, 2019
