I don't want to use the posts feature at all - I just want a fairly static front page with some info in the first paragraph and then some links to some archived articles (which will each be a static page). I think I need to edit the home.html in _layouts but I can't work out what to do. I guess I also need to do something in the _config.yml but I'm not sure what.
I used the ruby_gem method to install minimal mistakes and learned that the _layouts are hidden by default. But I created a _layouts folder and added a copy of the home.html from the base minimal mistakes repo. But when I made a simple change to that (changed the layout to grid) and pushed it the home page just broke (plain text rendering - no CSS, or header, or sidebar etc.).
Can anyone help me?
