Sensor stops communicating with tablet - repeats data once connected again #321

Describe the bug
Client was trying 6 out of the 40 sensors that have been purchased after having them sit on the bench at room temperature since they first arrived. All 6 of these sensors were still logging cold chain data on Friday and the sensors still read at 100% battery life.

On Friday, 5 of the 6 sensors (E1-E5) were placed in the fridge. E6 was put on a desk. All 6 sensors were away from the tablet so did not sync any data through.

After the weekend (Monday), all 6 of these sensors were brought back to the tablet so that the data could be synced through to the CCA tablet. However, only one of these (E3) could sync out of 6 as shown in the picture:

On attempt to try and use the blink test to find the sensor with the CCA app - this failed.
On attempt to press the sensor to see if the lights would blink - this failed.
On attempt to press and hold to see if the lights would blink - this failed.

There was then a question of whether the issue was related to the battery dying. We suggested removing the battery from the case and then putting it back into the case to see if this would resolve the issue. The same batteries were removed from the case and then put back in again - this triggered the sensor to blink and then the records were able to sync.

Once the logs had synced, it was noted that temperature readings had been recording the whole time the sensor seemed to be "off" or not lighting up as when the data came through finally there were no missing data noticed on the dashboards.

However, one of the sensors was reading at the wrong temperature even though it was in the fridge with the other sensors - this kept going until that sensor battery was removed from the case once more and put back in. See dashboard:

I suspect the sensor were unresponsive to bluetooth command, if they were not responsive to the button blink

For E1 it's possible that the contact the batteries is not great, can we ask them to send a photo of what it looks like inside the case, with batteries taken out ? Seeing as the graph for E1 looks like it's got the same pattern as the other, but moved forward, this could indicate that it was off.

For the others, maybe we can try to replicate, looks like they were on as the pattern is similar, but could have crashed somehow. To replicate we would need to link the sensor, wait for a day where they are in proximity of the tablet, then move tablet way way away from them so they are not syncing anymore, put them in the fridge, then after a couple of days bring the tablet closer

Wondering if a tablet restart would have achieved the same thing as replacing the batteries?

Seems odd that all of the sensors simultaneously experienced a glitch related to the batteries 🤔

Actually, sorry I'm conflating issues here - this issue should probably focus on the data being reported at a very wrong temperature for E1. I've never actually seen anything like that before.

Could probably do with a different issue to discuss the sensors stopping communicating with the tablet - I have seen that before and a tablet restart usually resolved the issue.

We just had this on our office tablet.

1 of the 3 sensors stopped communicating after running for ~ 6 weeks.

Blink test failed
Short press failed
Long press failed

We restarted the tablet but this made no difference.

We had to remove and replace the battery from the sensor to get it to function again.

This is the data from before:

This is the data after, you can see the repeating data pattern:

Some more issues with more sensors from client:

Yeah I tried to use C1 and it was the same, I had to take the batteries out and put them back in
Okay I found 2 more that are doing the same thing (no green light when pressing or holding, and not syncing) - D6 and B2.
