[MMGIS Map Tool] When uploading vector/raster layers, provide progress feedback

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
While testing #6088 it took around 1 to 2 minutes to upload a raster layer image. There wasn't any feedback on how the upload was going (had to look in the network tab). Then it failed the first time (didn't see the error, could have missed it, it was in the error notifications).

Describe the solution you'd like
Provide some sort of progress feedback on the upload. If there is an error, make it have to be user closed, so it stays in the view.
