cross check with Crossref, openalex

It would be good to be able to have templates that required for the different bib entry types, i.e. article, book, misc etc.. Then it will identify the ones missing those fields and cross check with Crossref or openalex to fill those empty entries.

I'm not quite sure I understand your suggestion. Are you referring to the browser extension or directly to the app? Perhaps a walkthrough using user stories could help clarify.

Hi, I think it would be easier to do it into the app. Basically, it will cross check with those databases to fill any missing fields in the BibTeX file.

For example:

If you click reference via Search Online with this entry: 10.1016/j.envsoft.2014.08.010

Some of the fields are missing compared to when you click the plug-in:

This is just one example. In some case I simply copied my BibTex into the Add Manually, and some entries may also be incomplete. It would be very handy, if you could add a functionality to basically adding all required fields by first checking the missing ones and suggest the fields to add by checking the different databases.

I like the idea and can see adding a button to check for missing fields. I will include this in our backlog. Regarding the missing fields in the online search, I can make adjustments to retrieve the same ones through the browser extension.
