A Hello, World! to get started with open source.

This repository showcases Hello, World! programs, as a way to get started making contributions to open-source projects on GitHub. The programs are then displayed on https://ouluwebdev.github.io/hello-hacktoberfest/.

Getting started with open-source contributions

  1. Create an account on GitHub, or log into your GitHub account
  2. Create a new Hello, World! file in this repository, in src/, for the language of your choosing: https://github.com/ouluwebdev/hello-hacktoberfest/new/master/src
  3. Submit your change as a Pull Request (PR), describing what you did.
  4. That’s it! We’ll then review your change, hopefully merge it, and then your new file will appear on https://ouluwebdev.github.io/hello-hacktoberfest/.
