The Code of Conduct is currently only available in English.
This was first reported in the core library repository: processing/p5.js#7534

You can see that there is the English code-of-conduct.mdx here: https://github.com/processing/p5.js-website/tree/main/src/content/text-detail/en

But this file is missing in each of the other supported language trees:

Please comment below if you'd like to work on one of these translations. To avoid duplicating work, please wait until a maintainer tags you and confirms you can work on it. Then, you can make a PR referencing this issue. To ensure translation quality, reviewers for these PRs would also be great to have so even if a language you're interested in working on is already in progress by someone else, please comment here anyway and a maintainer will tag you when those PRs are ready for review!

Don't hesitate to comment even if you're not sure where to start 🌻

Hi @billasur! Existing automated tools like google translate can already be used to translate website content by end-users in their web browsers. However, speakers of these languages could potentially offer more accurate translations, both in content, and in tone, so I think it would be best that the first pass of these translations were done by speakers of those languages! I hope that makes sense.

Subject: Request to Contribute Arabic Translation for the Code of conduct

Hi Maintainers,

I hope you're doing well. I’d like to contribute by translating the Code of conduct page into Arabic as part of issue #712. Since this page is currently only available in English, adding an Arabic version will improve accessibility for Arabic-speaking users.
@ksen0
Best regards,
Bhumika

Thanks, @HritvikBhatia! As soon as another p5.js contributor is able to review it, we can merge it in. You're all set for now!

Amazing to hear this enthusiasm, @krishna4040 @Bhumika-00 @Aki120900 @n35796 @hbkdesign @islml ! The website currently only supports English, Spanish, Korean, Hindi, and Simplified Chinese. So if you'd like to contribute a translation of the code of conduct in other languages, what I can suggest is one of the following:

(1) Add your translation as a comment in this thread, if you specifically want to translate the Code of Conduct. Then, we can integrate these new translations with the contributor docs of p5.js 2.0. Since we're in the process of that release this month, it can be a bit more complicated to update in the main branch of p5.js, and then have to also update in the 2.0 branch, and so on.

(2) If actually you you like to open a community conversation to see if others would be interested in creating a fork of the website translated in your language, the French and Japanese forks might be inspiring. Keep in mind that with p5.js 2.0 changes are coming, so this would be a significant project, and rather than jumping in to translate everything yourself, you could make an issue (like in the French example) to see if you can find enough people interested in maintaining the translation over time.

I'm sure you're noticing that the current translation contribution process is hard to navigate! This is why it's part of the GSoC project list this summer - so this process is open to new proposal.

Hello ,@ksen0 ,I can translate it to traditional Chinese (zh-TW). May I know if there a need for traditional Chinese version? Thank you

Hi @ksen0, I noticed that there are also missing translations for the documents contact.mdx, copyright.mdx, download.mdx, privacy-policy.mdx, and terms-of-use.mdx. Do we need translations for these as well? I would like to provide the translations in Chinese.

Hi @thoughts-cell - for now we do not yet support traditional Chinese translation directly, but please stay tuned in the future if there's more interest in adding this language! In the next year, hope to improve the translation process enough that it would become much easier to contribute new languages.

Hi @lirenjie95 - thanks for noticing! Everything should be translated, yes. Potentially, the archive site may also be an interesting resource, especially for pages that might not have changed much (if you confirm there's no changes in content for, eg, privacy policy in English, then porting all the translations from the old site to this would also work). What do you think about this Issue format, where it's page specific and lists all the untranslated pages? If it seems reasonable, please feel free to create issue(s) for those other pages.

I'm also trying out the tags for adding specific translations, would be great to know what people think about that, would it be useful if we used it widely?
