Sorry if this is a naive question, but it became relevant here in this issue: Is it possible and worthwhile to get and report the installed Rtools version?

Unfortunately this is not easy to implement. The pkgbuild package has a lot of logic to find rtools, in the registry, on the path, and at the usual places, but I don't want to replicate them here, and I also don't want to depend on the pkgbuild package.

How about suggesting and adding the info only if pkgbuild is installed?
