I'd love this visibly obvious feature to be available but I'm just getting into using Atom. I spent an hour or two trying it on my own using atom.views.getView(atom.workspace).classList.set('remote-atom-server-is-running') but that made that class true for all Atom windows, not just the one running the server.

Any hints?

Great plug-in! I use it 100's of times a day! Thanks very much for writing it.

I love this idea, but I don't think I will have time to implement it. Any PR will be welcomed.

Thanks, Randy. OK, I'll take a stab in the next few coming weeks. Again, thanks for banging this together.
