Look at pint library: https://pint.readthedocs.io/en/stable/. Seems to have "batteries included", and could replace existing unit conversion utilities

Other options w/ old system:

  • Consider populating constants w/ scipy.constants module
  • Consider using internal references to avoid duplicated values
