Need a way to modify Graphiz cluster subgraphs

I don't know if it's a documentation problem but I can't find any way to modify DOT cluster subgraphs global attributes or include any other attribute than the label.

the only attribute I can find for subgraph cluster is adding the "cluster" attribute when adding nodes which adds the string the to the label of the cluster. I would like to be able to set other attributes like the background color or penwidth to the cluster.
