Linux

  • Need python to point to Python 2.7.x.

Windows (MSYS2)

  • Need Windows Python 2.7.x,
  • I've successfully started make by using export VCINSTALLDIR=1, but then I don't have a version of the Windows SDK that the build system can detect. From Mozilla documentation here, it seems that the most recent supported version of Visual Studio/Windows SDK is from VS 2013. I haven't confirmed that setting up the VS 2013 environment actually fixes things yet.

Updated the OP with some more information I've found trying to compile with Windows. This might actually be cross-platform, whoo!
