[Idea] Distress Signals

So idea here, what if from your ship control console or a holopad or something you could push a button to send a distress signal, with perhaps an automatic one if your ship goes broko or everyone on it dies. When the distress signal is sent any ship will be able to see from its control console a list of distress signals and their coordinates with perhaps a red exclamation mark over distress beacons, if everyone on the ship is dead and its in space it could dock in empty space aswell so other ships can get to it. This would make medical ships actually able to do their jobs,
