See discussions in #2563 . Action items:

Have Cubeviz image viewer mix in Astrowidgets API like Imviz viewer.
Write tests for all the APIs but using cubeviz_helper instance.
For the APIs that fail because data is 3D and not 2D, figure out a compatibility layer or throw NotImplementedError .
