logout not working from the frontend ( saying unauthneticated )though its working from the backend

I have the same issue.
Gone to browser console and cleared sessionStorage by sessionStorage.clear()
Login then logout is working for me.

I am sure you could have solved it.
If not, it is because of the middleware. Please copy and paste the exact api.php content.
