Before I try the API, I just had one question

If my account gets banned after I tried scraping the information, how easy is it to get the ban lifted? Also based on the comments I have read, your API default sleeping times for search requests but are there any other best practices I need to be aware of? I am trying to get a list of contact information based on a certain search.
