This task has multiple parts.

  • Design - Deep dive into the ESXCLI and vDVS integration
  • Implementation - Implement changes required in existing commands and exposing the new namespace through xml based extension discovered by hostd.
  • Testing - Modify existing tests to use esxcli instead of vmdkops_admin.py.
  • Documentation - Document the usage of esxcli
  • Evangelism - A blog post that explains how this feature works.
