Issue: We have received requests to review the content of the WSGs and identify any overlapping material that could be better placed or merged with other material where cross-overs may be occurring to reduce redundancy within the specification.
Considerations: Complications in undertaking this task include many guidelines that bridge multiple categories (such as UX, WebDev, DevOps, Business, etc.) and may even apply to multiple remits (have impacts across multiple guidelines). Also, compressing the number of guidelines may increase the number of SC per guideline and make compliance increasingly difficult as a byproduct. Additionally, individuals assigned differing roles and specialisms may approach the spec in different ways and may view applicability differently (as where content belongs can be subjective).
We need to balance redundancy with granularity. How granular do we want each item to be? We can also crosslink recognizing that these issues don't exist in a vacuum.
