Hi,

I'm on macOS 10.13 High Sierra with Photoshop 2015.5.
I've tried all the troubleshooting I found on both the github readme and some Issues here, but I can't find a way to make the plug in work.

It is correctly detected and it appears in the Photoshop -> Plugin info menu, but when I click on it I get an error that the find can't be found.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks1

Hi Luca, sorry for your trouble.
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce your error and can only recommend trying the usual:

  • Install an older version of WebPShop as mentioned in File not found error #15
  • Remove quarantine flag as mentioned in Mac OS 10.15 - doesn't work #3
  • Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus software
  • Use a recent version of Photoshop with native WebP support, but I doubt this is an option

Hi, thank you so much for chiming in!

I completely missed #15 !
I'll try that next.

I already did #3 with no luck unfortunately.

I don't use firewall or antivirus.

I have tried the latest version of Photoshop which works on High Sierra, which is Photoshop 2020, version 21.2.5, and I got the same error.

I'll try an older version as suggested in #15 and report back!

EDIT: it worked! 🎉

Too bad I'm stuck with a pretty old version of libwebp, I wonder if there's any way to update it, short of compiling the source code.
I have the latest webp command line tool from Google installed, maybe there's a way to link it to webpshop?
