Hello friends! 👋 This discussion serves as a place for discussing the trajectory of our project. When I first started this project, I wanted to scratch an itch, aiming to address the lack of Rust's accessibility in the data science, analysis, and ML domains for beginners. In this issue, I'd like to delve into some questions that may have crossed your minds:
1. Why publish for TDS on Medium and not push everything in one place here on GitHub?
The primary reason for publishing articles on TDS is their policy against AI-generated content, a stance I support. This decision was made anticipating potential accusations from some of you, e.g. the Rust foundation, of my reliance on language models. While I may lightly use LLMs, and sometimes not at all, this choice aligns with the principles of platforms like TDS so that you rest assured the content in this repository is not AI-generated.
2. Why did you stop writing these articles?
The decision to halt new article publications arises from the lack of financial support. Unfortunately, platforms like Stripe, Paypal, and GitHub Sponsors and most e-wallets are not available in my country, Lebanon. Therefore, I am not making any dime from these articles. Now, to sustain this intensive work, I am now involved in writing books, which will serve as a means of financial support. If you'd like to support this project, please feel free to buy a physical copy of any upcoming books.
3. Will you continue publishing new notebooks?
Absolutely! The journey doesn't conclude with the completion of my current books; it's a mere checkpoint. I'm committed to the ongoing exploration of new ideas and the publication of new notebooks. The future holds a canvas of unknown territories, and your engagement and support are the driving forces propelling this project forward. Together, we'll continue shaping the narrative and celebrating the joy of intellectual discovery. Your love means the world, and I'm excited to embark on this continued journey with you. ❤️
Feel free to share your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas regarding the future direction of the project in the comments below. Let's embark on this journey together! 🌟
