This project is a simple test application for the Game Controller framework, specifically designed to test the haptic behavior of individual Nintendo Joy-Cons.
This app aims to explore the capabilities and behavior of Joy-Cons when connected to iOS, macOS and other Apple platforms. It helps in testing individual Joy-Con connections and their haptic feedback functionality. A known issue is that when both a left and a right Joy-Con are connected, they automatically pair up as "JoyCon (L/R)" instead of being usable individually. On macOS, there is no way to then split these again (on other platforms, users can hold "Home" and "Screenshot" simultaneously for 3 seconds).
- Controller haptics can only target the whole controller, not just the left Joy-Con of a pair of Joy-Cons.
- When both Joy-Cons are connected, they appear as a single paired controller "JoyCon (L/R)" instead of two separate controllers.
- On macOS, there is no method to split them again, unlike on other Apple platforms (users can hold "Home" and "Screenshot" simultaneously for 3 seconds).
- Connect your Joy-Cons to your Mac.
- Run the app to see how the Joy-Cons are recognized.
- Use the app to test haptic feedback on the Joy-Cons.
