Installing and Setting up the Plugin

Installation is a breeze, setting up is the harder bit.

Install

  1. Download the plugin and PlaceholderAPI from Jenkins, Spigot, or GitHub Releases.
  2. Install the plugins to your server's plugins folder.

Setting up

The plugin needs to listen on 6548/TCP.

This varies greatly depending on the host, so see below for specific setup guides for them.

If you get a "PORT IN USE" warning on startup, change the port in the config to something else. See below for any specific host instructions.

Host Specfic Setups

Below are host-specific instructions. A host being here does not imply endorsement or promotion, they are simply guides if you happen to use them.

Dedicated/VPS hosts

If you have this on one server, you don't need to worry.

MCProHosting

  • Once the plugin is installed, navigate to your panel's Firewall & Port Mapping.
  • Click "New Port Mapping"
  • In the Destination Port box, put "6548"
  • Click "Create Port Mapping"
  • Restart your server
  • When started, click "Go to URL" next to the created port mapping to test the connection.
