On this page we're trying to provide answer for the most commonly asked questions regarding AdFlake.

General Questions

Q: What is AdFlake and what are it's benefits? A: AdFlake is a free service that will help you to maximize your ad revenues. AdFlake provides a centralized interface to setup up your different ad providers like adMob or iAd. AdFlake will determine if ad requests are fulfilled and will reallocate unfilled ad slots to a different network enlarging your revenues. You can fine tune your ad network request percentage depending on which networks will perform most profitable. AdFlake offers you to create your own House Ads that will be shown inside your apps to accelerate your cross promotion so you can further enhance your app downloads.

Q: How much do i pay for AdFlake service? A: AdFlake is a free service, so there will be no cost or hidden fees related to registering or using the AdFlake services. AdFlake won't take a cut of your ad revenues and AdFlake won't charge you for House Ads.

Q: Who is maintaining the AdFlake service? A: AdFlake is maintained by MADE.

Q: Who pays my revenues? A: Your revenues are payed by the different ad networks that are configured and used by your applications. AdFlake has no possibility or right to determine or gather information about your payments from the networks. You can find the ad networks homepages by navigating to the Application Page and at the Configure button.

Q: I've signed up but my login doesn't work! Why? A: If you can't log in, ensure that your password is typed in correctly. Make sure that you have activated your account by clicking the verification link in the account registration email.

Q: I've forgot my password. If you forgot your password type a wrong password into the login field and a reset password button will magically appear.

Q: Don't you guys just provide the same service as AdWhirl did before it was taken down? A: Yes, AdWhirl provided a fantastic service that we used in our own apps. After we've been notified about the imminent shutdown of AdWhirl we decided to build AdFlake to fill the void.

Q: My apps will create a lot of traffic! Can you handle it? A: Yes, AdFlake was built with scalability in mind. We're running on several node servers hosted by the awesome Microsoft Windows Azure cloud, so we've got high traffic, huge data storage and reliability covered!

Getting started

Q: How long will it take to get AdFlake running in my app? A: It shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to get up and running, if you've got the SDKs of the ad networks you want to supported already integrated. If you haven't downloaded the SDKs yet, it'll take a little bit longer as you have to download the ad network SDKs and setup your publisher ID on their network.

Q: I want to use AdFlake on a different platform than iOS/Android, will there be future support? A: Right now there is now AdFlake only support Apple iOS and Google Android. Our roadmap includes Windows Phone and Windows 8 Metro.

Q: Do i need an account for every ad network i want to use? A: Yes, the ad network provides you with an id that we use to manage the ads. Also, the different ad networks will be handling your payment for ads so you #. However it should be okay to use one publisher id with multiple apps.

House Ads

Q: Can i create my own ads? A: Yes, you can create custom ads (House Ads) that will be displayed inside your apps.

Q: Can i prioritize my House Ads? A: Yes.

Q: I want to show ads in the apps of others, can you do this? A: No, right now AdFlake only provides the best ad mediation service :)

Analytics

Q: Does AdFlake provide some service to review my apps ad performance? A: Yes, AdFlake provides (realtime/up to the minute) analytics for your app. Our analytics data includes impressions, clicks and CTR. Helping you to keep in track with the best performing ad networks and to adjust network allocation to maximize revenue. However, our analytics won't include the network's eCPM as we have no access to this data stored on the ad network's servers. But our analytics also help you to validate the impression/click data your ad networks displays.
