Select One:

  • EITHER: This game is not a traditionally published game, but a copy of the game rules can be purchased/downloaded/found at: [ ]
  • OR: This sheet is for an unofficial fan game, modification to an existing game, or a homebrew system.

Changes / Description

Unable to find any contact info for Cubicle 7 Games on their website, I avoided using any logos. The sheet was developed via an image on a fan-site and an enthusiastic play-tester in ‘theother’, who had posted in the Character Sheet Request forum for a Doctor Who 2e sheet. Without a corebook, I’m still not absolutely sure of the rules, and lacking any contact with the publisher, I was reluctant to display the various levels of success/failure the play-tester asked for, as that might have been a copyrighted table (which is a landmine I have stepped on previously). I did, however, display the number of 6s and 1s separately in chat, as the player did not know that these were revealed on ‘hover’ over the roll. He surmised that if he did not know, it was not widely distributed knowledge. And, of course, the client is always right.
Game system is, probably, Doctor Who Adventures in Time and Space

Hi @WilliamBarkerCoC!

Disclaiming that I'm not a lawyer, I'm pretty sure degrees of success/failure would be permissible according to our rules, if you'd like to add it in! Our primary concern with tables is when it comes to character creation choices like class abilities, background, or other copyrightable information. As I understand it, since adjudicating Success and Failure has to deal with the process of running the game (inherently uncopyrightable), they should be good to add in. The one grey area would be for things like the descriptions of resultant injuries or other traits from the roll - I would avoid pasting in any paragraphs of text from the rules in those areas and just refer to them by name if you're looking to add that level of automation.

This sheet looks good to merge! The only thing I would ask is that I see some proof that TheOther has given this a look and okayed it, since they are the one who has access to the rule book. You mentioned a playtest; if you want to send me an invite to the playtest game (email is nora.cahill@roll20.net), I can take a look and that should be sufficient!

Best!
Nora

Hi @WilliamBarkerCoC , is this intentionally a draft? We're going to merge this, but wanted to make sure that it's actually ready for that!

Greetings NBrooks,

NorWhal had asked for information regarding the playtesting of the sheet: "The only thing I would ask is that I see some proof that TheOther has given this a look and okayed it, since they are the one who has access to the rule book. You mentioned a playtest; if you want to send me an invite to the playtest game..." which I did, via email. I'm awaiting their input, as I would rather delay and get it right(ish), than release and facepalm (yet again).
So that answer, bizarre as it may seem, is 'I don't know if I'm ready' (whimper). But I can be patient (or at least I tell myself).

The code has been changed to implement NorWhal's suggestion of Success/Failure for rolls but respecting the requester's desire not to be pestered with submitting Difficulty with each roll. The current version has a "Suppress Difficulty" in the upper right, which, when clicked, will turn Dark Red and suppress Difficulty requests. This is stated in the hover title. When active, Difficulty will be requested (default: 9) and degrees will be registered on a scale of: "success++, success+, success, success-, failure+, failure, failure-, failure--"

In both states the number of Ones and Sixes will still be shown.
