Description

This PR adds a comprehensive guide for integrating Language Server Protocol (LSP) with @monaco-editor/react in Next.js applications, while avoiding common SSR (Server-Side Rendering) issues. The guide includes:

  1. Step-by-Step Instructions: A minimal setup for integrating LSP with @monaco-editor/react in Next.js.
  2. Version Compatibility: Clear guidance on version constraints for monaco-editor, monaco-languageclient, and related dependencies.
  3. Production Optimization: Best practices for avoiding SSR errors

Motivation

Many developers face challenges when integrating LSP functionality with @monaco-editor/react in Next.js due to SSR conflicts. This guide aims to:

  • Provide a clear, minimal solution to avoid SSR issues.
  • Help developers quickly set up LSP in Next.js applications.
  • Serve as a reference for production-ready implementations.

Changes

  • Added a new section under For Next.js users titled LSP Integration with SSR Optimization (Minimal Setup).
  • Included detailed steps, code snippets, and version constraints.
  • Linked to a community-contributed example repository for further reference.

Verification

To verify the changes:

  1. Follow the steps in the new guide.
  2. Run the provided code in a Next.js project.
  3. Ensure the LSP server is running (e.g., using Docker Compose).
  4. Confirm that the editor loads without SSR errors and LSP functionality works as expected.
