Ref: https://devguide.python.org/versions/ My impression is that the LTS promises of major distributions matter a lot more than Microsoft & Python upstream schedules. But the former also point towards Python 3.7 having become mostly irrelevant by now. Debian 10 ("buster") extended (5 year) maintenance ended 2024-06-30, and Ubuntu 20.04 ("focal") with likely users well into the year 2032 shipped Python 3.8 anyway. |

@benoitc ping Its not just Github CI being less useful.. a formal decision to ignore unsupported python versions would also permit some more readable syntax & stdlib usage. |
