When used by pg_regress this allows parallel tests, reducing test runtime on many-core systems.
This allows for parallelized execution of test, reducing total runtime of the test suite by a factor of the available cores.

On many-core systems this reduces runtime by a significant factor, as each of the test files has a relatively large runtime.
