Mathematical-History

This repository is created to store the my study of Mr. Li Wenlin's "Introduction to the History of Mathematics". As you can see, this repository contains all the mathematical notes written in LaTeX (currently only in Chinese), including: LaTeX source files (.tex), typesetting files (.cls), presentation results (.pdf) and some figures(./Figrues).

At present, the notes only record the first 10 chapters of the book (from the development of ancient mathematics to modern mathematics, excluding more advanced mathematical frontiers). The contents of the first 7 chapters (until the creation of calculus) were sorted out by me, and the contents of the last 3 chapters were sorted out by AI. The content of the notes mainly covers important mathematical figures and mathematical contributions in the history of mathematics from ancient to modern times, and can be regarded as a simple summary of Mr. Li Wenlin's works.

Due to my own level, the notes only record in general terms some events that I personally think are more important in the development of the history of mathematics, and there is very little description of the mathematical achievements therein (lack of comprehensive theorems and propositions). Therefore, they are only used as an introduction to the history of mathematics for readers to read.

My personal suggestion is that readers can use this note as an outline, combine it with Wikipedia, and try to look up information while reading. This will not only increase interest in learning mathematics, but also improve one's ability to explore. It is a very good way to learn.

Finally, due to academic reasons, this note may not be updated frequently. Interested readers can download and modify the contents of the note for learning purposes only. In any case, mathematics is an extremely beautiful subject. Its significance lies in understanding and exploration, innovation and breakthrough. The focus of studying mathematics is to learn the excellent ideas of predecessors. This process itself is the process of learning the history of mathematics.

本仓库是为了存储我对李文林先生的《数学史概论》的学习而创建的。如你所见,仓库内现完整包含用LaTeX写成的数学笔记(目前只有中文),其中包括:LaTeX源码文件(.tex)、排版类文件(.cls)、展示结果(.pdf)和部分插图。

目前,笔记只记载了书中的前10章(从古代数学发展到近代数学,尚不包括更为先进的数学前沿),前7章内容(直到微积分的创立)由我本人整理、后3章内容则由AI帮忙梳理。笔记内容主要涵盖古代至近代数学史的重要数学人物以及数学贡献,可视为对李文林先生著作的浅显概括。

碍于本人的水平,笔记中只笼统地记载了个人认为数学史发展中较为重要的一些事件,对其中的数学成果描述甚少(缺乏定理命题一类的综合),因此仅作为数学史的引入,供读者阅读。

个人建议,读者可以将这篇笔记作为一个大纲,与Wikipedia相结合,在阅读过程中尝试着查阅资料,这样不仅能提高数学学习的兴趣,也能够提高自己探索的能力,是非常好的学习方式。

最后,由于学业原因,该篇笔记可能不会频繁更新,有感兴趣的读者可以自行下载并修改笔记的内容,仅供学习使用。而无论如何,数学都是一门极为优美的学科,其意义本身便在于理解与探索、创新与突破,学习数学的重点便在于学习前人优秀的思想,这个过程本身便是学习数学史的历程!
