The Gamming Room client has hired my team to take their game and turn it into a cross-platform web-based game. They needed help with designing the architecture as well as developing and testing the product across multiple platforms.

• What did you do particularly well in developing this documentation?

I have a background in cloud computing; therefore, I felt the most comfortable with designing the architecture for a cloud solution.

• What about the process of working through a design document did you find helpful when developing the code?

While developing the design document, I enjoyed thinking about the process of the best solution to approach the problem. Questioning my own logic to seek a better solution.

• If you could choose one part of your work on these documents to revise, what would you pick? How would you improve it?

I would like to revise the section on reviewing which platform to develop on. Understanding the advantages of each OS and hardware would help maximize the performance of the application.

• How did you interpret the user’s needs and implement them into your software design? Why is it so important to consider the user’s needs when designing?

When designing a new application, it is essential to listen to the customer to understand the end goal. The user wanted to expand their game to mobile devices, covering multiple OS. They wanted to do this while keeping the game feeling familiar to their current customer.

• How did you approach designing software? What techniques or strategies would you use in the future to analyze and design a similar software application? The ideal approach to designing software is security focus. Ensuring the software, you are designing will protect the company’s and customer data.
