LightHouse: Dependencies

Are there any dependencies I need to install?

You just need python3, which you will most likely already have in your PC: many distros already provide it pre-installed.

What about the themes?

Whenever invoking LightHouse, you must tell it which Global Theme it should apply. You can use for example Breeze and Breeze Dark, the two default KDE Plasma themes.

Or you can go to the System Settings and download new ones you like:

SystemSettings

WARNING! Make sure you download the so called "Global Themes". A Global Theme is a package containing all the graphic embellishments created by the author of the theme: in one click you can install everything you need. LightHouse needs this kind of packages to apply your favorite theme.

Also

WARNING! Sometimes Global Themes, if not correctly configured by the original author, can lead to graphical discrepancies (for example: a color palette may not be applied correctly or the author may forgot to complete the theme etc...) It may happen, therefore, that the problem is not of LightHouse but of the theme to be applied.

What about the Wallpapers?

LightHouse can also modify the wallpaper at the same time as it applies a new theme. Often, the wallpapers associated with a specific theme are installed at the same time you install a Global Theme.

You can still choose any personal image to apply, the only limit is your imagination!

What about Konsole's profile/theme?

LightHouse can also change the default theme applied to Konsole, the KDE Plasma terminal.

To install a new theme, follow these steps:

  1. Open Konsole
  2. Now click in the main menu bar Settings --> Manage profiles and create a new profile by clicking on New.

  1. Reach the Appearance tab and download a new color scheme by clicking on the Get New button.
