PlasticParcels: a ready-to-use tool for plastic dispersion simulations and parameterisation development

This is version 0.1-alpha1 of plasticparcels, a python package for simulating the transport and dispersion of plastics in the ocean. The tool is based on v3.0.2 of the Parcels computational Lagrangian ocean analysis framework, providing a modular and customisable collection of methods, notebooks, and tutorials for advecting virtual plastic particles with a wide range of physical properties.

This alpha-version is still very rudimentary, so use at your own risk. In the coming weeks, we will be developing further documentation, testing and improve functionality.
