Despite all of the inherited flaws from JS, TypeScript has recently earned a place in my heart. So I've decided to do 2 rewrites:

JS -> TS (this repo)
TS -> Rust (separate repo)

I'm doing this mostly as a learning experience, and because "I'm using ESM anyways, so why not go full TS?"
