Make the backlinks pane look like ZotLit's annotation view

You can combine

to transform the backlinks pane into an easy-to-see annotation view like that of ZotLit.

  1. Select a range of text that you want to add a comment.

  1. Copy a link to the selection with the following copy template (this is included as one of the default templates in the latest version ("Quote in callout"), but the users from the older versions will have to manually add it):

  2. Now, paste it to a markdown file, and add your own comment in the callout, like so

  1. Then, the backlink pane will look like this:

It is essential to wrap both the link and your comment with a callout (or blockquote); it makes it possible to render them in a single backlink view item at the same time.
