This wiki aims to be a comprehensive guide on how to use Sheezy.Art, but may not cover everything. If you'd like to contribute, please feel free to open a new Documentation Update Issue.
- Image Dimensions
- Max Upload Size
- Content Editing
- Persona Accounts
- Friends & Followers
- Profile Blocks
- Search
- Username Icons
Note
These are not hard limits – if you upload an image that exceeds the limit, it will be resized automatically.
Despite this, it is still recommended to export images with the appropriate dimensions from the get-go to avoid any quality loss or unexpected scaling from automatic resizing.
Warning
Automatic resizing of animated GIFs is known to cause problems. If you encounter artifacts when uploading GIFs (notably in username decorations where the limit is small), make sure you are following these limits.

The maximum upload size for all files is currently 50 Megabytes. This applies to all artwork types as well as profile photos, background images, etc. If the file you're trying to upload is larger than the limit, it will simply be rejected by the uploader.
If you're struggling to fit your artwork within the filesize limit, you can try compressing it using a relevant compression tool. Some examples of reliable compression tools are as follows.
- Rotato Video Compressor
- Caesium Image Compressor
- Ezgif (GIF, animated PNG, WebP, and AVIF files)
- FFMPEG Online (Advanced conversion and compression for images and videos)
- Caesium (Image compression for macOS and Windows)
- ImageOptim (Image compression for macOS)
- Handbrake (Multi-platform video conversion and compression)
Throughout the site, you will likely encounter a Markdown Editor at some point. This looks like a glorified text area with a Preview pane and a few buttons along its toolbar.
Markdown is an extended version of HTML utilsed by many websites. It allows you to use certain special characters to emphasise text in a variety of ways.
There are many standards of Markdown in use on the internet, but Sheezy uses CommonMark. Visit CommonMark's website to see what you can use on Sheezy.
Because Markdown is an extension of HTML, you may also use HTML in place of Markdown whenever you see a Markdown Editor.
Note
Sheezy is a bit different from other sites with Markdown in the sense that HTML is allowed. HTML is not typically allowed in Markdown for security reasons, but this is not a problem for us because we have taken extra steps to properly sanitise and secure any HTML supplied by users.
In the future, Sheezy will supply a few of its own Markdown tags to allow for the ability of mentioning users, and for embedding artwork thumbnails into posts.
Sheezy offers built-in support for Tone Indicators when posting comments. Tone Indicators are a novel way of expressing some of the deeper meaning behind the words you type.
Tone Indicators are completely optional and the dropdown menu used to select them when posting can be toggled on or off in your Comments Settings.
A Persona is the name given to Sheezy's sub-accounts system. Personas can be created using the Personas tab in Settings. You're allowed to create a set number of Personas based on your current Subscriber Tier. The free tier allows 5 Personas.
Every Persona is essentially its own separate sub-account nested within your main account. You can upload artwork, leave comments, and interact with other users and Personas while a Persona is active. This is especially useful for DID systems, OC roleplaying, and advanced artwork categorisation.
If you wanted to, you could even create a Persona account and use it as your own "mini community" - you could set up some Comments Blocks on the Persona's profile, for example, to create a rudimentary forum. The possibilities are endless!
To switch to a Persona, use the Personas tab in Settings.
You can also quickly switch to any of your Personas using your user dropdown menu.

- Other users and Personas will see an icon next to your Persona's username which confirms that it is a Persona.
- Personas are subject to the same moderation rules as regular users, and our Moderation Team reserve the right to remove Personas that routinely break our rules or use the feature as a means of badgering or harassing other users.
- Personas offer no guarantees of anonymity. Anyone can easily figure out your main account from your Persona by glancing at the browser address bar, as all profile and artwork links owned by Personas contain your main account's username.
Sheezy has five different types of member relationships — Follower, Mutuals, Friends, Contacts, and of course Blocked.
These should all be fairly self explanatory, but they are not completely separate stages. These relationships 'stack' to build an overarching connection between yourself and another user — for example, you cannot friend someone unless you both follow each other first.
When you block a user, they will be unable to view your content or interact with your account in any way, shape or form while they are logged in. It will be as though your account simply ceased to exist on the site.
Blocking a user negates and resets all other forms of user relationship. If you decide to unblock the user later on, you will not be friends or following one another if you were before.
When you follow a user, or a user follows you, the sender becomes a 'Follower'. This is the most basic kind of relationship and is one-way.
If you'd prefer that a particular account does not follow you, you can use the 'Remove Follower' button, which behaves the same as soft-blocking on other platforms.
If you get followed by a user and decide to follow them back, the two of you will become 'Mutuals'.
Mutual followers unlock the ability to send each other a 'Friend Request'.
When you receive a friend request from someone, you will be given the option to 'Accept' or 'Dismiss' the friendship.
Accepting a friend request elevates you both to 'Friends' status - and further unlocks the ability for the two of you to 'Request Contact'.
Dismissing a friend request will hide it for you. The other member will continue to see their request as 'Pending'. You can view your pending incoming friend requests on your Friend Requests page.
When you send a contact request, your friend will receive a notification with an option to 'Accept' or 'Dismiss' the request. Upon accepting, the 'Private Contact Links' specified in their settings will now show on their profile for you, next to their 'Public Contact Links'.
Dismissing a contact request will hide it for you. The other member will continue to see their request as 'Pending'. You can view your pending incoming contact requests on your Contact Requests page.
Personas can have their own unique set of friends and followers. These can be between members and other Personas. Note, however, that blocking and contact requests are user-level actions - that is, blocking a user will also block all of their Personas, and Personas cannot be sent contact requests.
Profile Blocks allow you to customise your profile by organising it into a grid of small containers that display various elements such as artwork thumbnails, user profile photos, awards, and even custom HTML.
Here's a list of a few available profile block types:
Custom Content Blocks allow you to create your own mini-site inside a block on your profile. They utilise a basic, sanitised version of HTML.
JavaScript and event handler attributes are automatically removed upon save - though <style>
tags and elements with the style
attribute are still fully supported.
Note that Custom Content and Profile Information blocks that are set to HTML mode will have no pre-included text formatting. If you'd like to automatically format a section of text in your code, you can wrap it with the following:
<div class="prose">
... </div>
The prose
class will automatically format heading tags (<h1>
, <h2>
, etc.) as well as <blockquote>
s, <code>
blocks and <ul>
lists. It will also add padding around <p>
paragraph and <img>
image tags.
This section has moved to Embed Block.
Sheezy's search engine utilises some common text patterns to make searching for artworks quick and painless.
Available filters are as follows:
Filter | Example | Effect |
---|---|---|
following or +
|
Will show items from artists you follow | |
liked , <3 or ❤️
|
Will show items that you have liked | |
mine |
Will show artworks that you have uploaded – this is a shortcut for @{my username}
|
|
!{rating} |
!teen |
Will show items matching this Maturity Rating |
#{tag} |
#cat |
Will show items matching this tag |
>{sort key} or <{sort key}
|
>trending |
Will sort items by the given key. > is a descending search, < is an ascending search |
<{type}> |
<video> |
Will show items that match the specified artwork type |
@{username} |
@dorfde |
Will show items from this user. Can be used multiple times per search |
@{username}${persona} |
@thiccmurg$seth |
Will show items from this Persona. Can be used multiple times per search |
All of these formats can be negated by adding a -
at the start of your search term. You can chain search terms together to create limitless and highly specific filters.
For example - adding -@nocaps
to your search will exclude items created by user 'nocaps'.
Likewise, adding -following
or -liked
will exclude items from artists you have followed, or that you have liked. A handy way to find new artworks!
Note: If you want to search for literal text within the title or description of an item, you can wrap your search terms in single or double quotes like so: <image> @fae_line 'a happy pomsom'
. Unescaped search terms will automatically become tags.
Available sort keys are as follows:
Sort Key | Effect |
---|---|
<date |
Will display the oldest items at the top |
>date |
Will display the newest items at the top |
>likes |
Will display the most liked items at the top |
>trending |
Will display the currently trending items that match the search terms |
>views |
Will display the most viewed items at the top |
Available artwork types are as follows:
Search Tag | Artwork Type |
---|---|
<audio> |
Audio and music |
<gif> |
Animated GIF (no audio) |
<image> |
Images and photography |
<literature> |
Written word |
<swf> |
Flash/Adobe SWF |
<video> |
Animations, films, and video |
One really fun way of finding new artwork is by using Sheezy's Shuffle Button!

Situated next to the search button, hitting 'Shuffle' will send you to a random artwork. The artwork will conform to your tag exclusions preferences, will honour blocked users and Personas, and will even match whatever you type into the search bar!
Want to see some cool One Piece artwork? Type #onepiece
into the search bar and hit Shuffle. It's that easy!
There are a few icons that show up before your username. These typically indicate your level of support for Sheezy. The minimum is Beta Tester, as Sheezy is currently in its Public Beta phase.
You can only have one icon displayed at once, and they stack on top of each other, with higher-tier icons showing before lower-tier icons. You aren't able to choose what icon is displayed; that's automatically decided based on the tier list below.
If you subscribe to the site, your icon will be changed to the one for your subscriber tier, as opposed to the minimum Beta Tester icon. If your subscription expires, you'll be reverted back to your original Beta Tester icon.
It's important to note that subscribing does not overwrite the previous icons - it simply stacks on top of them. For example, if you subscribed during our current beta testing phase, and your subscription expired sometime after the official release, you'll still get to keep the Beta Tester icon. This is because the Beta Tester icon is permanent and never leaves your account, it was merely hidden by your subscriber icon stacking on top.
Below is a list of all available icons, listed in order of tier:
Icon | Description |
---|---|
Persona | The only icon Persona Accounts are able to have |
Cake Day | Shows up on the yearly anniversary of the day you joined Sheezy |
Administrator | Administrative Team |
Developer | Development Team |
Social Media Team | Social Media Team |
Moderator | Moderation Team |
Technical Helper | Technical Team |
Helper | Helper Team |
Investor | The maximum subscriber tier |
VIP | Subscriber tier |
Pro | Subscriber tier |
Basic | The minimum subscriber tier |
Beta Tester | The minimal icon every user has |
