This repository hosts the rules for the r/iPod Discord
Welcome to the /r/iPod Discord guild, a place to discuss iPods, audio gear, tech and other topics. We hope you'll enjoy your stay here, but first off, we need you to read and abide by the rules listed below.
1. Respect and maturity
Don't be racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist or otherwise engage in hate speech. You can curse, but just don't be a jerk to others. Act mature, don't spam, think before you type and don't discuss topics people are offended by.
2. Keep stuff to the correct channels
For example, keep memes to #memes. #general-chat is a catch-all channel, but if people are not interested by the topic and there's a better fitting channel, consider moving to there.
3. Follow Discord TOS
You are required to follow the Discord Terms of Service (https://discord.com/terms). This includes their age requirement (at least 13 years old), the prohibition of posting illegal content such as links to piracy and malware, and NSFW content.
4. Self-promotion
Don't advertise your own content here. This includes streams, YT channels and Discord guild invites. This rule may not be enforced if the content is relevant to the discussion.
5. Drama and politics
Don't start drama or bring it here from other servers. Politics aren't allowed due to them almost always causing drama.
6. Impersonation
Impersonating people, such as users and moderators, is not allowed.
Punishment Guidance
Generally, we operate on a 4-strikes-you're-out system, where if you have four legitimate non automod warnings, you will be banned from the server.
However, this guidance might be broken according to the acting moderator. This means that, for example, if you clearly are joining just to troll, or are posting deliberately offensive content, we may ban you on the spot, or, in the case of minimal rule breakage, we may give a non-strike verbal warning.
Automoderator warnings (e.g posting a blacklisted word) don't count as strikes, neither do "joke" infractions (e.g asked to be muted/warned). Normally, if you get a legitimate strike, we will append [X/4] to the infraction message. Strikes may also be removed at mod discretion for continued good behaviour.

These rules have been written by @lexd0g#3502, heavily being based on her rules for the DankPods Discord and our past rules, which had been written by @fnuer#1956, basing them on the GNU/FSF IRC rules.
