As far as I can tell, this way of computing the returned value should match libinput, e.g.: * https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/blob/1.22-branch/src/libinput.c#L546 * https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/blob/1.22-branch/src/util-time.h#L72-76

"Integer conversions" here says that unsigned overflow on conversion does a modulo: https://en.cppreference.com/w/c/language/conversion
