SynoCommunity package Mosquitto specific FAQ

Configuration

At installation, initial configuration is available under: /var/packages/mosquitto/var/mosquitto.conf.

For package upgrade to preserve configuration, additional files like password file must be placed under /var/packages/mosquitto/var/

Mosquitto 2.x

Since Mosquitto 2.x the access configuration is more restricted. The package now installs an empty password file (passwd) that can be enabled manually in mosquitto.conf.

When enabled, you can add users with the following command:

mosquitto_passwd -b /var/packages/mosquitto/var/passwd <username> <password>
