There is a JavaFX implementation of material design. We should do a POC to see if it is viable to change the UI to use it.

Additionally we may want to provide this as an alternative styling that you can swap between.

Making it switchable would be a huge PITA. Should stick to either the material design or the default styles.

I'd be curious to see a POC of Material Design for GRIP

I don't think this is feasible, JFoenix only skins stock JavaFX controls. We'd have to write our own ControlsFX skins, which while possible, doesn't seem too useful.
