Setting Single Post Layouts
By default, the Simple Page Builder applies to pages (e.g. the built-in page
post type). This makes sense -- pages are usually finite, and sites might require vastly different layouts on different pages. Using WDS Simple Page Builder in this case will save you from having to build a lot of custom template files for different pages on the site. Instead, if you use template parts extensively to create modular components, those components can be added, removed and rearranged via the meta box that appears under the post content.
Template parts will display in a dropdown list in the Page Builder meta box. Selecting a template part from the dropdown and adding it to a page will add a single template part to that specific page. Pretty cool, right?
But wait, there's more!
You can click the "Add another template part" button to add another template part from the list. And you can use the ⌃ and ⌵ buttons to re-order the template parts.
- The individual Page Builder layout overrides any of the other layouts that might be set (globally or saved layouts).
- The Page Builder meta box only appears when that post type has been allowed on the Page Builder options page.
