Why better-sqlite3 cannot use relative path to create db?

When I use the relative path to create db it will get error:

const Database = require('better-sqlite3');
const db = new Database('./db/sample2.db')

the error:

(node:4427) UnhandledPromiseRejectionWarning: TypeError: Cannot open database because the directory does not exist

if I use code like this:

const Database = require('better-sqlite3');
const db = new Database('sample2.db');

it will works fine.

I don't think the relative path is the issue, does a db folder exist? Does new Database('./sample2.db'); (relative path) work?

as you say, I tried:

new Database('./sample2.db');  // this works fine

new Database('./db/sample2.db');  // this will get issue 

so if it is not under current path, it will get error.

@liaodalin19903 i think what he said is you should create a db folder before trying to write sample2.db. relative paths work but only if the directory exists. if it doesn't exist, it might throw an error. it works in my project :)
