Query Length?

Hi there,

Thanks for making this. It is simply awesome.

One question is on query length when using API.

With something like 1200 words (7900-ish characters, I get a "414 URI Too Long" error.
I tried Search request and Simple Search request.

When running the same request using OpenPerplex Playground, I don't run into this issue.

Are there any limits, or some additional restrictions in the API that are not allowing me to send this request?

Hello, thank you for the kind words! There is a limit on the API for words, but it’s not 1200—I'll check on that.

Also, no need to use the query as both a system and user prompt; just write your query as you would for the user prompt, as we handle the system prompt automatically.

In 2-3 days, I’ll be releasing a new version of the API that will allow you to customize both system and user prompts, similar to the Perplexity API.

Sounds good. Thanks so much for looking into this. Essentially my goal was to feed it short and long posts to search for sources. Happy to work within parameters and wait :) Cheers, Subir p.s. happy to provide a testimonial if you need - I've stopped used Perplexity via the API because it was just rubbish.
