Context

With #2796 we added new functionality to Flow with the hypothesis:

  • More projects will make use of monitoring as it makes it easier to scale
  • We will have fewer cases of Al submitting data to wrong data points.

Secondly, we created the change to assign specific data points as an optional one. We want to see how this change is perceived before we make it an explicit action to assign data points (as it is with selecting devices).

Problem or idea

To know if our hypothesis is correct and if the new functionality is used and to make learning easier, we need to be able to track usage on Flow and usage of this new feature.

Solution or next step

Lumen used Piwick Pro and Graphana to track usage. We should do the same with Flow

We agreed today that Piwick Pro is the way to go.

We want to track the number of created assignments, number of assignments with data points assigned by name/ID and number of assignments with assign all (clicks on assign all)

We have data coming in, so for the purpose of tracking usage it seems done. I will monitor the data this week and reopen the issue if needed.

@iperdomo I see you added one more change to the site ID. Can you close the issue once all is done?
