Note
This release is compatible with Equalizer APO 1.3, 1.3.1 & 1.4. In case you use versions 1.3.1 & 1.4, you don't have to restart the computer during installation & configuration (as stated in README.md of this repository). Equalizer APO 1.4 is the recommended version as no drawbacks were found during testing.
Caution
To make sure you won't accidentally damage your speakers (highly unlikely), it is advised that when installing Equalizer APO to your speakers in Equalizer APO Device Selector
(Equalizer APO Configurator
) you check Troubleshooting options
, check Auto
and select Install as LFX/GFX
(or Install as SFX/MFX
) instead of Install as SFX/EFX
as by default (example).
Tip
- In case you did installation correctly but the Equalizer APO isn't working (this may happen due to Windows Update too), you should launch
Equalizer APO Device Selector
(Equalizer APO Configurator
), uninstall Equalizer APO for your speakers and then reinstall it back, but now checkTroubleshooting options
and selectAuto
optionInstall as LFX/GFX
(orInstall as SFX/MFX
) instead ofInstall as SFX/EFX
. The default mode isInstall as SFX/EFX
, however, I haven't noticed any audible difference between all three modes when testing in Windows 10, version 21H2 (explanation of all three modes). - In case you run Boot Camp from an external disk, you may experience accidental intensive sound distortion that won't go away: no matter what you try, the only thing that helps is rebooting laptop. However you can fix this by disabling and re-enabling Equalizer APO for your speakers via
Equalizer APO Configurator
(Equalizer APO Device Selector
) with a differentAuto
option as described above. This issue is likely not related to Equalizer APO, it's probably an Apple T2 bug or Boot Camp drivers bug.
