Testnet FAQ
This is the FAQ for the Testnet release of Noether. Before being released on Mainnet, new features go through a testing period on Ropsten Testnet to allow users to test the new functionalities without spending money, collect community feedback and perform final validations. If you don't find the question you are looking for, the solution fails or have some feedback, please contact us at the Cartesi Technical Community on Discord and we'll be happy to assist/hear from you.
If the update is not caused by a PoS protocol upgrade, you can choose between upgrading your pool to the new smart contract version or leaving it on the the original one.
All staking contracts are tested and audited both internally and by an independent security company. Additionally, the system underwent thorough testing on the Ethereum Ropsten Testnet before being launched on Mainnet. Also, there is no slashing or risks on the principal due to node unavailability. If a pool node goes offline you can always manually remove your CTSI.
Please visit the Staking Delegation documentation (pool manager and user) on Medium. If you cannot find your answer there, you can also ask for help at the Cartesi Technical Community on Discord.
Once created and configured, the pool manager cannot change the selected commission model. The value of the commission can be freely decreased but cannot be raised, currently.
No, but we do encourage users to select a cloud service with a good SLA and to check if they are not going against the provider policy by running crypto related software.
