- Expert localization: 10,487 terms (90.6%) were translated by Prof. Naritomi in UR-DBMS, Ryukyu University (Prof. Naritomi, (Soichi))
- Dictionary-based localization: 1,807 terms (15.6%) were covered by the Japanese Association of Medical Sciences Medical Term Dictionary. (Prof. Kosaki (KEIO Univ), (Soichi))
- Automatic translation: 2,034 terms (exact match) + 9,181 terms(partial match) (in total, 97.3%) were translated by using LSD in the previous BioHackathon (BioHackathon 2015) (Yasunori)
HPO-Japanese will be published with composed by (1) expert localization, (2) dictionary-based localization, and (3) automatic translation distinguished using evidence-codes.

Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO) is a controlled vocabulary used to describe phenotypic abnormalities seen in human disease, and is being used as a standard of phenotypic description of rare disease patients in Japan.
