Welcome to 'Unity Localization Tool' wiki

Unity Localization Tool(Abbr. UnityL10nTool, ULT) is free, open-source program designed to analysis, modify font and text asset of unity engine based game and make a patcher to use immediately.

UnityL10nTool make it easy for translater who does not know about programming but want to translate unity engine based game personally to publish patcher.

Also, It would be helpful for programmer to programming whois own patcher using Unity Assets Bundle Extractor.(Abbr. UABE; https://github.com/DerPopo/UABE)

Quick start

  1. Download program from https://github.com/dmc31a42/UnityL10nTool/releases and extract at a folder.
  2. Execute 'UnityL10nTool.exe'
  3. If 'Windows Defender SmartScreen' show, under decision of you click 'More info' and 'Run anyway'.
  4. Click 'New' button at the top-right of window, and select unity engine based game folder. For example, executable file(BomberCrew.exe) of 'Bomber Crew' of 'Runner Duck' is in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BomberCrew" and 'BomberCrew_Data' folder path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\BomberCrew\BomberCrew_Data" then you can select anything. Anything below are okey.
  5. Click 'BomberCrew' folder in 'common' folder, and click 'Select folder'.
  6. In 'BomberCrew' folder and selected folder name is 'BomberCrew' or empty, and click 'Select folder'.
  7. Click 'BomberCrew_Data' folder in 'BomberCrew' folder, and click 'Select folder'.
  8. In 'BomberCrew_Data' folder and selected folder name is 'BomberCrew_Data' or empty, and click 'Select folder'.
  9. After loading assets of game, project page will show.
  10. Click 'Save', then this project will show at first page.
  11. Click 'Build', then empty patcher will be built in '.\Projects(Game Name)\Build' folder which does not patch anything.
  12. See details about each 'Font Asset', 'Text Asset', 'Online Resources', 'Updater', 'Project Setting' descrived below.

Contents

  • Project page : Interface description.
  • Font Asset : Plugins which change fonts(unity default font, third-party font asset) if included font does not support translated language.
    • TMPFontAsset
  • Text Asset : Plugins which extract texts from the game as specified form and export these into files as form user want for translate works, and import translated file into specified form and apply to the game. Sub-contents descrive how to use each plugins.

    • GetText(.po)
  • Online Resources : Download resources from web. it is almost used for downloading lastest translated texts.
  • Updater : If the game updated, and font engine or direction of font and text asset is changed, so patcher should be updated, then make it easy for user to download lastest patcher from web.
  • Project Setting : Almost build setting is descrived.
  • Patcher : Description about how patcher work, how interface show.
