The license file was previously removed as it just was considered as a duplicate of the main repo LICENSE file. However it is needed for being included in pypi package and is referenced from setup.cfg Unfortunately setup.cfg does not complain if it cannot find it and it does not support including ../LICENSE so a symbolic link is used
