reported by Matthew at 10am:
sync seems to have got stuck somehow; no spinner on roomlist, but most recent messages were all from 5am somehow. tapping into a room like HQ gives this.

Should fix - Sync has got stuck while the app was backgrounded

According to the logs (attached to the emailed report), the applicationDidEnterBackground was ignored during the session state handling. The session was running whereas the app was backgrounded.
